GBAPS honors 8 with annual Staff Recognition Awards

Eight Green Bay Area Public Schools staff members were honored on May 20 at the annual Staff Recognition Awards.

The Staff Recognition Awards honors staff in various positions across the District for exemplifying the District’s core values and best practices in equity, engagement and excellence.

The following staff members were recognized in the following categories:

- Outstanding Initial Educator - Halee Fritsch, Multilingual Teacher, Sullivan Elementary School
- Outstanding Elementary Educator - Marissa Blizniak, 4th Grade Teacher, Langlade Elementary School
- Outstanding Elementary Support Staff - Amy Elsner, Facilities Technician, King Elementary School 
- Outstanding Secondary Educator - Shauna Francour-Rattray, Math Teacher, Lombardi Middle School
- Outstanding Secondary Support Staff - Casey Veras, Behavior Focus Special Education Paraprofessional, Franklin Middle School
- Outstanding School-Based Student Services Staff - Ann Blank, Special Education Academic Program Support Teacher, District Office Building
- Outstanding School Administrator - Jen Agamaite, Principal, John Dewey Academy of Learning
- Schools at the Center Champion - Malia Torbenson, Bilingual Executive Secretary for School and Community Relations, District Office Building

Back in April, Interim Superintendent Vicki Bayer, supervisors, and other guests surprised staff across the district who had been nominated and selected as award recipients.
